A New Vision for Charlotte

44 days...
That’s the number of days I have to convince Charlotte voters that I’m the Mayoral Candidate with the best vision for moving Charlotte forward.
In normal times it’s a daunting task and, with the limited amount of time, it amplifies all the feelings that come with that much responsibility - fear, doubt, and anxiety to name a few.
And it IS a huge responsibility. Being Mayor means having influence over almost a million people’s daily lives in Charlotte alone, and that doesn’t include thousands more in towns and suburbs within Mecklenburg County.
Who am I to believe I’m up for the task?
It’s a valid question but…
…. when you have a plan to provide 25,900 affordable homes over the next 10 years (to fill a current 36,000 home shortage) to individuals and families, helping build generational wealth for many…
…. when you have a transit and infrastructure plan that prioritizes every Charlottean- rejecting costly, inequitable projects- and infrastructure upgrades to boost local economies, tourism, and access for underserved communities…
…when you have a plan to create 8,000 jobs over the next 5 years, no college degree required, and increase tourism dollars by 20% over the next 10 years, creating thousands more jobs…
…when you have a plan to ease the burden of childcare costs for all Charlotte families, whether lower income or working class…
…when you have a plan to make a safer, stronger, and more equitable Charlotte through community-driven public safety, economic opportunity, and innovative police reform…
…when you have a plan to restore trust in a city government rocked by scandal after scandal by providing more transparency, increasing accountability, and including more community voices in major decisions that will impact our city for decades to come…
…You push those negative feelings aside because you know you can help so many individuals and families.
Charlotte has prospered through rapid growth over the past decade, and I respect the work that the Mayor and City Council have done over that time, but too many of her citizens haven’t been a part of that prosperity, especially many long-time residents. For those Charlotteans, progress can’t come swift enough.
This election is about the future, not the past.
It’s about vision and trust, deciding who is the candidate with the best vision for the future and has the trust of Charlotteans to make that vision a reality.
I believe I’m that candidate.
If you’ve read this far, I’m going to ask you to do 3 things.
First, I’m going to ask you to like, repost, or whatever is needed for more people to see this. If that’s all you do, it’s still appreciated.
Second, I’m going to ask you to go to my website (www.maginnisformayor.org) and DONATE. It’s going to take a good amount of money to spread the word in such a brief period, and it’s needed TODAY. Your contribution in any amount will be greatly appreciated.
Finally, I’m going to ask you to volunteer. Even if you aren’t impacted directly by any of the issues above, I’m sure you know someone dearly who is. It’s going to take all of us working together to make this happen, and I look forward to being there with you.
Working together, we can build a transparent and thriving Charlotte for everyone.
Gratefully,
Brendan K. Maginnis
