An Innovative Plan to Solve Charlotte's Issues

A plan to expand current solutions that work combined with proven, innovative solutions.

As Mayor, we'll tackle Charlotte’s 36,000-unit affordable housing crisis by scaling proven programs like the Housing Trust Fund and CHOIF, while pioneering innovative solutions like 3D-printed homes, micro-units, and community land trusts. With bold funding from impact investments, federal grants, and corporate pledges, we’ll create 25,900 affordable units by 2035, ensuring every resident has a safe, affordable home in a vibrant, opportunity-rich city

Safety starts with trust between our communities and law enforcement. I'll expand community policing, fund mental health crisis teams, and invest in youth programs to prevent crime. Building on SAFE Charlotte, we'll ensure every neighborhood feels secure through proactive, equitable strategies.

Building a Charlotte where everyone thrives with 8,000 new jobs by 2030, no degree required, a vibrant pedestrianized Uptown, and equitable growth for underserved neighborhoods.

Restoring public trust in Charlotte’s government means prioritizing openness, accountability, and community-driven decision-making, addressing recent controversies and ensuring every Charlottean has a voice in shaping our city’s future.

Delivering a transit and infrastructure plan that prioritizes every Charlottean—rejecting costly, inequitable projects like the $25 billion transit proposal and $1.38 billion Red Line, while championing a $1.2–$1.5 billion Blue Line extension to Carowinds, free bus routes, and infrastructure upgrades to boost local economies, tourism, and access for underserved communities.

An affordable childcare plan should empower parents, enhance child development, and foster economic and community growth in Charlotte. By focusing on accessibility, cost savings, and targeted investments, Maginnis will be a Mayor who prioritizes families and the city’s future.
